David Yun Of Eureka Sound With Josh Heinrichs At Slo Brew Rock

Eureka Sound Is a new up and coming roots reggae band coming From Los Angeles Calif backing Josh Heinrichs and playing festivals such as Roots on 66 and One Love in Long Beach, I had the please to talk with guitarist David Yun About crazy tour stories, favorite venues and much more

Q: What are the plans for the future?

A: Keep writing, playing music until the opportunities open up again

Q: How did you link up with Josh Heinrichs to back him?

A: Ryan played in his previous backing band Voltron

Q: What got you involved in music in the first place?

A: For me, started in Church as a young child

Q: How do you feel about the internet in the music business?

A: The internet is a huge platform for musicians; free networking, promotion, etc

Q: Who  are some musical icons that influence each of you/Eureka Sound

A: All the Jamaican foundation artists had a big impact on our love for roots reggae, as well as bands like Midnite. We’re also very influenced by the modern sounds of Puerto Rico band Cultura Profetica.

Q: Favorite local venue to play and why

A: Sealegs is a cool beach view venue in Huntington Beach. We love playing the spot on a nice summer day

Q: How has this quarantine affected you guys (individually)/and the band as a whole

A: All of our gigs including very important tours have been “postponed”. We are not able to get together to jam as well which is a huge part of being a successful band. Personally it’s affecting me big as everyone in my family is not able to work, having no income.

Q: What projects have you been working on (if any) during this off time

A: We’ve all been working hard writing new music almost everyday. Trying to stay inspired through these very trying times. We cooking Up some great music though. We can’t wait to share it (maybe sooner than we think)

Q: Favorite gig/tour you’ve done

A: Favorite tour for me was the latest tour we did the Movement and Josh heinrichs

Q: Any crazy tour stories you'd like to share?

A: We hit a f**King deer
